Contact usTucked away in the quiet hills of western Georgia, just a short walk from the breathtaking Katskhi Pillar, Katskhi House is more than a guesthouse — it’s a living part of the landscape, culture, and climbing community of Imereti.
Surrounded by limestone cliffs, forests, and ancient churches, our house was built to welcome travelers, climbers, nature lovers, and spiritual seekers alike. Whether you're here to scale the cliffs, explore sacred sites, or simply rest in nature, Katskhi House offers a warm, authentic Georgian experience grounded in simplicity, beauty, and local tradition.
Katskhi House was born from a passion for the mountains and a love for this land. Originally a family home in the heart of Katskhi village, it was transformed into a welcoming guesthouse and climbers’ basecamp by a local team of mountaineers and nature lovers who recognized the incredible potential of this region — not just for tourism, but for creating a place where people from around the world could connect through shared experiences.
Over the years, we’ve hosted climbers from across Europe, hikers from Asia, artists, spiritual pilgrims, and curious wanderers — all drawn by the mystery of Katskhi Pillar, the beauty of the cliffs, and the warmth of Georgian hospitality.
The village of Katskhi is famous for its dramatic limestone monolith, the Katskhi Pillar, which rises nearly 40 meters above the valley floor. At the top sits a small church and hermitage, inhabited by a lone monk who has lived in solitude for decades. It is a symbol of asceticism, devotion, and the deep spiritual roots of Georgian Orthodoxy.
Beyond the pillar, the area offers lush forests, mountain trails, historic churches, and rock climbing routes for all skill levels — making it a perfect destination for those who seek both adventure and tranquility.
At Katskhi House, we believe in slowness, connection, and respect — for people, for the land, and for the spirit of this sacred place. Our goal is not just to host, but to share — a way of life rooted in hospitality, quiet adventure, and meaningful encounters.
We welcome everyone: solo travelers, climbing groups, pilgrims, digital nomads, and families. Come for the views, stay for the peace — and leave with stories that stay with you long after your journey ends.
